Analysis of Human Commonsense Reasoning Processes in Pattern Recognition
نویسنده
چکیده
Some examples of natural human common sense reasoning both in scientific pattern recognition problems and in solving logical games are given. An analysis of inference structure shows that inductive and deductive rules communicate in reasoning. An automated model for detecting the types of woodland from incomplete descriptions of some evidences is also given in this paper. The important part of this model is a small knowledge base of experts’ knowledge about natural woodlands as biological formation.

In a speech community, people utilize their communicative competence which they have acquired from their society as part of their distinctive sociolinguistic identity. They negotiate and share meanings, because they have commonsense knowledge about the world, and have universal practical reasoning. Their commonsense knowledge is embodied in their language. Thus, not only does social life depend...

متن کاملCommonsense Reasoning about Moving Objects: an Elusive Goal
Reasoning about how objects move and interact in space is pervasive in evcryday life. It is rightly considered an essential component of intelligence. Consequently, understanding spatial reasoning and developing computational models for it has been a central concern in many fields, including cognitive psychology, mathematics, robotics, vision, and artificial intelligence. Although much progress...

متن کاملPuzzle test: A tool for non-analytical clinical reasoning assessment
Most contemporary clinical reasoning tests typically assess non-automatic thinking. Therefore, a test is needed to measure automatic reasoning or pattern recognition, which has been largely neglected in clinical reasoning tests. The Puzzle Test (PT) is dedicated to assess automatic clinical reasoning in routine situations. This test has been introduced first in 2009 by Monajemi et al in the Oly...
